Coventry

Coventry is located in the West Midlands region of England. Coventry is an important industrial center especially famous for its automobile industry, airplanes, machine tools and other engineering goods.

A major attraction for visitors in Coventry is Coventry Cathedral, the most well known landmark of the city.

You can also visit Coventry Transport Museum, which houses an interesting collection of British-made road vehicles in the world.

Other structures of interest are a statue of Lady Godiva, St. Mary's Hall, Holy Trinity Church (13th cent.) and the spire of Christ Church. The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum is a major art gallery in the city.

If you venture outside of Coventry you can visit the Lunt Fort, a reconstructed Roman fort. Also located nearby is the Midland Air Museum.

A prominent place of interest is the Belgrade Theatre, which is one of the largest producing theatres in Britain.

The Warwick Arts Centre, situated at the University of Warwick, is a major center for art lovers. It comprises an art gallery, a theatre, a concert hall and a cinema.

Coventry has two Universities, Coventry University, and the University of Warwick. The nearest major airports are Birmingham International Airport, located around 17 km to the west of the city and Coventry Airport in Baginton.
